If You Don’t Move, God Will Move the Assignment

There comes a point where prayer has to turn into obedience. Not because we are trying to earn God’s love, but because faith was never meant to sit still. If God has spoken something to you, there is a moment where you have to stop overthinking, stop waiting for perfect conditions, and take the next step.

In today’s Morning Charge, we talked about a strong but needed truth: if we do not step out and do what God has called us to do, He can move the assignment to someone else.

I know that can sound harsh, but we need to hear it with the right heart. God loves us. His love is not based on how hard we work or how much we accomplish. Salvation is not earned by our performance. Jesus already paid that price.

But the assignment is different.

There are things God wants to do in the earth. There are people He wants to reach. There are families He wants to restore. There are businesses, ministries, conversations, acts of obedience, and moments of boldness He wants to use. And He is looking for people who will say yes.

Not just think about saying yes.
Not just talk about saying yes.
Not just pray about it forever.
Actually say yes and move.

One of the scriptures we looked at was James 2:17, where we are reminded that faith without works is dead. In other words, real faith eventually has movement attached to it. At some point, your actions have to line up with what you say you believe.

A lot of people say, “I’m waiting on God,” but sometimes God is saying, “I’m waiting on you.”

He may be waiting on you to make the phone call, start the business, apply for the job, serve where He told you to serve, file the paperwork, start the ministry, have the conversation, or take the first step toward what He already placed in your heart.

We also looked at Esther 4:14. Mordecai told Esther that if she remained silent, relief and deliverance would arise from another place. That is a sobering reminder. God’s plan was not hanging on Esther’s indecision, but Esther’s yes determined whether she would be part of what God was doing.

That hits home.

God’s will is bigger than our yes, but our yes determines whether we get to participate.

The same principle shows up again and again in Scripture. In Exodus 14:15, God told Moses to tell the children of Israel to go forward. The Red Sea did not part while they simply stood in panic. Movement was required. In Joshua 3:13, the waters of the Jordan began to move when the priests stepped into the water. In Matthew 14:29, Peter had to get out of the boat before he walked on the water.

Provision often meets us in motion.

That does not mean we move in foolishness. It does not mean we run ahead of God or make reckless decisions. It means that when God speaks, we trust Him enough to obey the next step, even if we cannot see the whole staircase.

That is where many of us get stuck. We want the entire plan before we obey the first instruction. We want all the money, all the confirmation, all the safety, and all the details before we move. But walking with God usually does not work that way.

He gives the next step.

Then, as we obey, He gives more.

That has been true in my own life. A year ago, the Lord challenged me about stepping out on social media. I had all kinds of excuses. I did not want it to look self-promotional. I did not want to build something that looked like man’s kingdom. I overthought it. I analyzed it. I hesitated.

Then the Lord made it clear: if I did not do what He was asking me to do, He would pass the assignment to someone else.

That caught me off guard.

So I started. It was not polished. It was not perfect. The first live stream was rough. I had to learn as I went. But obedience opened the door to what is now The Morning Charge, Branjo Collective, Fire and Water Ministries continuing to grow, and so many testimonies from people who are stepping into what God has called them to do.

None of that happened because I had everything figured out.

It happened because I finally moved.

Some of what you are praying for may be sitting on the other side of your obedience.

And here is the part we cannot miss: what God calls you to is rarely just about you. Your obedience may be connected to somebody else’s breakthrough, encouragement, healing, direction, or hope.

That business idea may serve families.
That ministry may reach people who feel forgotten.
That conversation may help somebody come back to Jesus.
That act of obedience may unlock something in your home.

This is why we have to stop treating the call of God casually.

At the same time, we must stay rooted in the secret place. Movement without intimacy can become striving. Obedience must flow from time with Jesus. We need His voice, His Word, His wisdom, and His timing. We need to be careful who we listen to, because not every voice using the name of Jesus is truly pointing people to Jesus.

So today, ask yourself honestly:

What has God already told me to do?

Have I been obeying, or have I been delaying?

Am I waiting on God, or is God waiting on me to take the next step?

Faith is not just something we talk about. It is something we walk out.
