Close the Doors to the Enemy NOW
Spiritual warfare is real.
The enemy is real. The attacks are real. The pressure is real. The battles we fight through prayer, praise, obedience, and standing on the Word are very real.
But there is a question we have to be willing to ask if the same battles keep showing up over and over again…
Is there a door open somewhere?

That may not be the question we want to ask, but it may be the question that leads us into freedom.
Because not every repeated battle is just “another level, another devil.” Sometimes the door has been cracked open from the inside. Sometimes we have given the enemy access through sin, compromise, unforgiveness, bitterness, rebellion, stubbornness, wrong agreements, or hidden disobedience.
If we want peace, stability, and freedom, we have to get serious about closing the doors.
Do Not Give Place to the Devil
Ephesians 4:26-27 says to be angry and do not sin, to not let the sun go down on our wrath, and to give no place to the devil.
Give no place.
That means do not give him room. Do not give him a foothold. Do not give him an opportunity. Do not give him access.
The enemy cannot create authority in your life, but he will absolutely look for access. And if we keep entertaining what God has told us to lay down, we cannot act surprised when the same cycles keep returning.
That does not mean every battle is because of personal compromise. But it does mean we need enough humility to let the Holy Spirit search us.
What You Tolerate Can Torment You
James 1:14-15 shows us how temptation works. Desire draws us away, sin is conceived, and when sin grows, it brings destruction.
Sin is not some harmless little pet we get to keep around.
Compromise is not small.
A little bitterness matters. A little rebellion matters. A little hidden agreement matters. A little perversion matters. A little dishonesty matters. A little flirting with what God told you to leave alone matters.
What you tolerate can become what torments you.
That is why we have to guard what comes through our eyes, ears, minds, conversations, relationships, and homes. What we keep feeding will eventually grow. What we keep excusing will eventually produce fruit.
And not all fruit is good fruit.
Unforgiveness Is a Major Open Door
One of the biggest doors people leave open is unforgiveness.
We carry old conversations. We replay what was done. We rehearse the wound. We justify staying bitter because what happened really did hurt.
But unforgiveness is not protection.
It is poison.
2 Corinthians 2:10-11 warns us to forgive so Satan does not take advantage of us. Hebrews 12:15 warns about a root of bitterness springing up and causing trouble.
That means unforgiveness is not just an emotional issue. It can become a spiritual access point.
If we want freedom, we have to forgive. Not because what they did was okay, but because we refuse to let the enemy keep using that wound as a door into our lives.
Stop Agreeing With What God Never Said
Some open doors do not look like obvious sin at first. Sometimes they look like agreement.
Agreement with fear.
Agreement with rejection.
Agreement with shame.
Agreement with lust.
Agreement with a victim mindset.
Agreement with poverty.
Agreement with the lie that says, “This is just who I am.”
But if God did not say it, why are we agreeing with it?
Some of us need to repent, but some of us also need to renounce the lies we have been living under. We need to stop strengthening what God is trying to break off of us.
The Word tells us to cast down thoughts and bring them into obedience to Christ. That means we do not have to let every thought build a house in our mind.
We can reject the lie and stand on truth.
You Cannot Ask God to Close What You Keep Reopening
This is where it gets real.
We cannot ask God to close doors that we keep kicking back open.
We cannot lay something down at the altar on Sunday and then run back to the same compromise, same relationships, same websites, same conversations, same habits, same attitudes, and same disobedience all week long.
Deliverance is powerful.
Freedom is real.
But freedom has to be guarded.
A closed door needs to stay closed.
That means repentance has to be real. Forgiveness has to be real. Obedience has to be real. The decision to walk differently has to be real.
How to Start Closing the Doors
Closing doors starts with honesty before God.
Ask Him to search you. Ask Him to show you where you have compromised. Ask Him to reveal unforgiveness, bitterness, wrong agreements, hidden sin, delayed obedience, and any place where the enemy has been given room.
Then respond.
Repent quickly.
Forgive fully.
Renounce lies.
Cut off compromise.
End wrong relationships.
Remove access points.
Obey what God already said.
Fill your life with truth, prayer, worship, the Word, godly community, and obedience.
Closing doors is not just about casting things out.
It is about changing how we live.
It is about allowing Jesus to clean the house, heal the wound, restore the flow, and teach us how to walk in freedom.
So today, ask the Holy Spirit:
What battle keeps repeating in my life?
What compromise have I been excusing?
Who have I not forgiven?
What lie have I agreed with?
What door have I been asking God to close while I keep reopening it?
Get honest.
Let Him reveal it.
Let Him heal it.
And close the door.
